The Last Schools
We will shoot a week in Nick’s own school this spring (2008), and then in August as part of our tour operations in Brazil, we will remain in the country between tours and spend a week of school in a very remote area in the middle of the Amazon rainforest. We are calling it "The Last School on Earth" because to qualify as a location it must be placed at the edge very last vestiges of "civilization". In this little school in Brazil for example you get there by paddling, and if you turn right out of the door and walk into the forest, there is nothing but forest for a very long way.
We are working on a school on our own remote coast here in British Columbia Canada, and a school in Northern Quebec near the Arctic Circle. In Africa we are in touch with a school in Namibia for the Bushman villages there, (in English) and are pursuing contacts in Mozambique (Portuguese) and other French Speaking African countries.
We are also in touch with representatives that will help us to do the Australian Outback and a French Polynesian Island.
