About Us

The Host:

This whole project is easier to understand after meeting Nick. Born in Vancouver Canada to a Brazilian Mother, and Canadian father, he learned Portuguese, and English as an infant. In 2003-4 attended a year of preschool in Portuguese, while the family lived in Brazil. Returning to Canada to start his primary school in 2004 he was placed in the French Emersion Program to help prevent a very quick and agile mind from becoming bored. Not only is he already showing signs of being an academic leader, but at eight is already very active in his school organizing, charity and extra curricular activities for his classmates on his own initiative. At five years old he began his career as a summertime sightseeing tour guide for the Vancouver based tour operation, Wild BC Tours, owned by his father. At first; quiet, courteous and charming, he soon developed serious skills in public speaking, and guiding, to the delight of the tour patrons. It is fully expected that within two years young Nick will be quite capable of conducting a typical sightseeing tour on his own, fully ten years before he can qualify for a professional driver’s license.

With a serious and reliable manner when required, he is the perfect host for our documentary, and this project could not be conceived without him.

Neila Scott (Nick’s mother) was born and raised in Brazil, and has a BA in English Literature and language, and a BSc in Genetics from the University of British Columbia, Canada. She is an avid environmentalist and adventurer now living in Maple Ridge, BC, Canada with Nick and her husband Chuck.

Charles Scott (Chuck),  Nick’s father is a naturalist adventurer who operates Wild BC Tours, for sightseeing tours in Canada in the summer, and Safari Brazil Guide Service, Amazon rainforest tours, in the winter months. He met Neila while on a personal photographic project in the rainforest in Brazil in 1985, they were married in 1987.
